Sinochem's pharmaceutical chemical business covers R&D, manufacturing and distribution, and has had competitive edge in technology innovation, large-scale production, international operation and market distribution.
In terms of R&D, we enhance our R&D capacity through independent development and international cooperation. In addition, we expand our strategic cooperation with world-known pharmaceutical multinational companies through outsourcing our R&D lab and providing tailored processing services of special intermediates for our clients. DSM-Sinochem Pharmaceuticals (DSP for short), our joint venture with Royal DSM N.V., owns rich bacteria strains resources for pharmaceutical development and plentiful international patents, has proprietary intellectual property in key technologies, and has developed an integrated application and development platform of highly-efficient bio-catalytic technology. Shenyang Research Institute for Chemical Industry is the first safety assessment institute in China receiving the GLP certification granted by the OECD country, and is able to conduct safety assessment and testing for pharmaceuticals, pesticides and other chemical products.
In the area of manufacturing, DSP’s manufacturing facilities spread across the globe. All of these facilities adopt its proprietary bio-catalytic technology and process, not only supplying high quality products, but also realizing green production. Zhejiang Langhua Pharmaceutical base owned by Sinochem passed US FDA’s certification, and parts of its products also passed the WHO’s certification.
In terms of the international distribution, we are providing our customers with such value-added services as tailored processing and manufacturing, registration and auditing. We also try to introduce high-quality AI and new, special and premium formulations into the Chinese market.
As for pharmaceutical circulation, we indirectly control Zhejiang Intmedic Group Co., Ltd., which has become the core company for provincial pharmaceutical reserve, modern pharmaceutical logistics, and e-commerce in Zhejiang province. In 2012, Intmedic ranks among the top ten players in China’s pharmaceutical circulation sector.
