The Forum is co-hosted by the World Petroleum Congress (WPC) and the four major Chinese state-owned oil companies. As the first activity focusing on youth since the establishment of the WPC, the Forum, with the theme of "Youth & Innovation - Future of the Oil Industry", is designed to attract the youth to join the oil industry and hence add to the innovative capacity within the industry.
The Forum is attended by altogether 541 youth from 40 countries and regions and received 342 articles written by youth covering energy resources and environment, refinery and petrochemical technologies and application of IT in the oil industry. Sinochem sent its youth representatives to the Forum to study and exchange.
