Sinochem Taicang Industry Park and Shanghai Organic Chemical Research Institute signed an agreement to establish joint Fluorine-chemical Laboratory. Feng Zhibin, Sinochem’s vice president attended the signing ceremony.
The joint fluorine-chemical laboratory will connect the excellence of R&D from Shanghai Organic Chemical Research Institute with Sinochem’s industrial strength. Fluorine specialty chemical, ODS substitute, fluorine high molecule material will on the laboratory’s product line.
It is the significant move of Sinochem’s fluorine chemical sector. The two parties are highly complementary. The new product will have the feature of high technology content and high added value. Shanghai Organic Chemical Research Institute was established in 1950 and is the stronghold for China’s organic chemical area. It owns 12 laboratory including two national key laboratories and one key laboratory under China’s Academy of Science. The Institute enjoys the excellence of technical research and a group of talents.
Though China has the rich natural resources for fluorine chemical industry, it still lags behind in terms of high-end fluorine chemical industry. It is the urgent need for China’s fluorine chemical industry to enhance its R&D capability.
