Sinochem Group Signs Memorandum of Understanding with BPC

On May 10, witnessed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and President of the Republic of Belarus Lukashenko, Chairman of Sinochem Group Liu Deshu and General Manager of Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) Elena Kudryavets signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) from 2015 to 2019 between Sinochem Group and BPC in Minsk, the capital city of Belarus. 

The MOU will be implemented by Sinofert Holdings Limited (Sinofert for short) under Sinochem Group. According to the agreement, in the next five years (2015-2019), Sinofert will purchase about 4 million tons (including selective quantity) of potash fertilizer from BPC, total trade volume valuing 1.3 billion USD. Specific price level depends on the following negotiation.

The new MOU is one of the significant achievements during President Xi Jinping’s visito Belarus and had a friendly meeting with President of Belarus Lukashenko. It is also a demonstration of diversified cooperation prospects between the two countries, and inevitable results based on the long-term and productive cooperation between Sinochem Group and BPC. It will further deepen the strategic cooperation between Sinochem Group and BPC, enhance economic and trade exchanges between the two countries, provide quality potash fertilizer resource for Chinese agricultural production and lay a solid foundation for the implementation of the national “One belt and one road” strategy.

Chairman Liu Deshu noted that Sinochem Group and BPC had long-term and friendly strategic cooperation relations; the two sides are complementary in the market and products with great cooperation foundation and prospects. Based on the principle of mutual benefit, the two parties will constantly deepen cooperation and develop friendship, join hands to provide support and guarantee for China’s agricultural development and food security, making great efforts to respond to the “one belt and one road” strategic perception raised by President Xi Jinping.

Elena Kudryavets emphasized that she valued the mutual-respect and mutual-trust relations established between Sinochem Group and BPC based on harmonious and balanced market development. She wished the two parties could enhance cooperation and promote the development of enterprise and has a positive influence on the national relations between the two countries.

Before the signing ceremony, Prime Minister of Belarus met Chairman Liu Deshu and his team. The two conducted nice exchanges.
